Tri the Rock

It's waiting for you... all you have to do is try! 

Come for a day of fun, food prizes and sports. This annual youth triathlon is for young athletes ages 5 to 14. 

From kids who have never even heard of a triathlon to seasoned competitive triathletes, Tri the Rock encourages kids to get out and give it a TRI.

NEW! Tri the Rock training camps

Learn new skills or increase your awesomeness with Tri the Rock training camps. Designed and led by USAT certified coaches, these camps are designed to instill and develop skills for new triathletes or hone and improve skills for Tri the Rock veterans. Race registration is included with your camp registration so find dates, times, and details. Check back for registration page.  

FREE First Timer Clinic

New to the sport of triathlon and wondering how it all works? Check out our free first timer clinic hosted by Altitude Multi Sport Club. Space is limited and registration will open Jan. 1 2019. If you missed our clinic click here for our informational handout given at the clinic. 


Pre-race packet pick-up

  • Can’t make it to pre-race packet pick-up? No problem. Simply visit the packet pick-up table on race day. Be sure to arrive early to allow plenty of time for your packet pick-up on race day. 
Race distances

Age Divisions

Tri the Rock now competes based on the athlete's age as of RACE DAY. Be sure to register accordingly.
  1. 5-6 years
  2. 7-8 years and 9-10 years
  3. 11-12 years and 13-14 years

5-6 years

  • 25-meter swim (one pool length)
  • 1-kilometer bike ride (one lap around Butterfield Park) - course map
  • 500-meter run - course map
  • Please note: check-in for this age group does not begin until 10:30 a.m.

Tri the Rock Trophy

Tri the Rock encourages kids to get active and try something new.  Be sure to indicate your school or club during registration as the school with the most participants will get the honor of displaying the Tri the Rock trophy for the next year!
