Spring Up the Creek

Saturday, May 7

Don't trash where we splash!
Feeling anxious to get outside and enjoy the springtime weather? Plan to join your neighbors, fellow students, Town staff and other "Stream Teams" at Spring Up the Creek on Saturday, May 7.
  • 8:30 a.m. - Registration
  • 9-11 a.m. - Cleanup
  • 10-11:30 a.m. - Vendor Fair

This springtime event started 13 years ago, when a group of energetic volunteers took it upon themselves to clean up areas of East Plum Creek and Sellars Gulch. Since then, the springtime cleanup has grown to include hundreds of volunteers and drainages throughout Town.

Anyone can volunteer - teens, families, community groups and businesses. Volunteers can print and sign a waiver form and pre-register online. You may bring the signed waiver form with you to the event or simply show up at Festival Park at 8:30 a.m. and forms will be available. For those under 18, waiver forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Volunteers will be given gloves, bags, and possible transportation to different area creeks. Second Street will be closed, so participants should park in the Town Hall parking lot, 100 N. Wilcox St., and walk to Perry Street to access the park. View event map.

Teens who want their work to count toward community service hours must bring a community service waiver already signed by their parents.

To register, go to
Volunteer Connect. In case of very inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to Saturday, May 21.
