Members of the Castle Rock community can meet the five finalists seeking to be the Town’s next fire chief at a reception the evening of Sept. 5.
The finalists will present a bit of information about themselves and interact with the people present. Then, those in attendance can fill out feedback sheets on the candidates, which Town Manager David L. Corliss will take into account when appointing the next chief, subject to Town Council ratification, as required by the Town Charter.
The finalists are, in alphabetical order:
Following the community reception, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in at Fire Headquarters, 300 Perry St., the five finalists will participate in panel interviews with Town staff and community members. Corliss also will take into account feedback from those panelists in recommending a new chief to Council – likely in mid-September.
Former Chief Art Morales retired this year after 15 years with the department. Croom is acting fire chief while the search is under way.
Over 100 applicants responded to the Town’s job posting for a new fire chief – a testament to Castle Rock’s reputation as a desired community in which to live and work in the fire service.
Questions regarding the process should be directed to the Deputy Town Manager Fritz Sprague, 303-660-1374 or fsprague@CRgov.com.
