Deadline extended; grant funding available for local nonprofits

News-Town1

Do you know of a program that is helping make Castle Rock a better place to live? The Town may have a great funding option. Nonprofit organizations again have an opportunity to apply for grant money through the Philip S. Miller Resource Grant Program.

The deadline for applications has been extended to Aug. 15.

Up to $40,000 is available to five nonprofit organizations in 2018. Eligible organizations include those that administer projects or programs that are geared toward the support of social and human services for Castle Rock residents and the community. Specifically, the funding requests must include provisions for water, energy, food or shelter assistance.

Applications are available online, CRgov.com/grant, and are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15. Please keep in mind this is the last year the Town will be extending the deadline past Aug. 1.

The Town’s Finance Department is coordinating the application process. The Public Safety Commission will evaluate all applications and make a recommendation to Town Council, which will choose the grantees.
