Work to start on Meadows Parkway bridge Sept. 5

RoadsIcon

Maintaining our investment in roadway infrastructure is a priority for the Town of Castle Rock. Sometimes, that means inconvenience for drivers who have to navigate roadwork.

Starting on Sept. 5, the Town will be asking for drivers’ patience along Meadows Parkway, where crews will be repairing the bridge over Plum Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad. Crews will repave the surface and repair the drivers’ side guard rail of both bridges.

Work is expected to last into October, though all construction schedules can be impacted by Colorado’s unpredictable weather.

Drivers can expect daily lane closures and new traffic configurations throughout the work. The Town will also do some night work, which is expected in late-September or early-October. Please pay attention to electronic message signs in the area and drive carefully though all construction zones. An alternate route is Castle Rock Parkway. (Prairie Hawk Drive is expected to open to two-way traffic over Labor Day weekend.)

The Town knows there’s other work to be done along Meadows Parkway. Next year, the Town plans for a full reconstruction of Meadows Parkway, from these bridges west through the Prairie Hawk intersection. Stay tuned to CRgov.com and the Town’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/CRgov) for information on that project next year.
