Police seek information from the community

Immediate Release

Castle Rock Police have been working to find answers as to who is responsible for several bullets striking homes in the Cobblestone Ranch subdivision located in northeast Castle Rock. Three homes have been damaged from what police have determined to be large caliber bullets.

The incidents were reported on Dec. 14, Jan. 1 and Jan. 5. Since then, two additional bullets have been recovered that are unassociated with any property damage.

Police have identified where they believe the bullets are originating from which is over a mile west of the Cobblestone Ranch subdivision. Several individuals associated with the property and surrounding area have been interviewed.

“We are seeking information from our community,” said Police Chief Jack Cauley. “We have been very fortunate these bullets have only caused property damage. Someone out there knows who is responsible for this. We ask that you contact us with information before a person is seriously injured.”

Castle Rock Police continue to work with their partners at the Denver Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives as well as the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office as they continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867, 24 hours a day, seven days a week - you can remain anonymous. Anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and charges being filed against a suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
