Tell us how you would like to move around Downtown during workshop June 6

What are your ideas for new ways to explore the uniqueness of Downtown Castle Rock? That’s the question the Town is asking as it embarks on a new study to plan for the future of Downtown’s travel network.

The Downtown Mobility Study will build off of the Town’s master plans and the Downtown Parking Study to look at other ways to maintain mobility Downtown, whether it’s driving, riding, biking or walking. Your feedback is important.

Join the Town for a workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the courtroom at the Castle Rock Police Department, 100 Perry St. A formal presentation will begin at 6:15 p.m. This workshop will help the Town and its consultant, Kimley-Horn, gather detailed feedback from those who utilize Downtown. For that reason, it’s important attendees plan to stay for the duration.

About the study

In 2017, the Town updated its Transportation Master Plan. During that planning process, there arose a need to look more closely at Downtown.

According to the plan, Town and private projects will put additional pressure on the existing travel network. To maintain Downtown’s character, widening roads is not an option. The Town is using this study to get feedback and think outside the box to plan for the future and other ways for residents and visitors to get around Downtown.
