Celebrate the Fourth of July in Castle Rock
Independence Day events in Castle Rock
July 4 is a time to celebrate our community and our county's history. Here are some ideas of what to do in Castle Rock this year.
In Colorado, we know our Fourth of July plans always depend
on the weather. Please know that use of any fireworks, along with the
Town's fireworks show, could be prohibited if fire conditions change.
Town hosts Rockin' the Fourth: Red, White & Boom! fireworks show
The Town’s Rockin’ the Fourth: Red, White & Boom! fireworks show will be July 4 at Metzler Ranch Community Park, 4175 Trail Boss Road. The fireworks show begins around 9:45 p.m. and will last about 30 minutes.
The best view of this low-flying show will be inside the park. However, for safety reasons, parking inside the park and along Trail Boss Road will not be permitted. Parking will be available at nearby parking lots, including retail and school lots.
Metzler Park will be closed to the public at 4 p.m. July 4, so the fireworks show can be set up. The skate park will be closed all day July 4 and the morning of July 5. Black Feather Trail will be closed between Front Street and Woodlands Boulevard from about 9 to 10:45 p.m. July 4.
Please note that in the interest of pedestrian safety, Trail Boss Drive and Black Feather Trail will be closed to through traffic throughout the day July 4, and no parking will be allowed on Sam Walton Lane.
Colorado is currently experiencing rainy weather conditions that allow for the fireworks display. However, the show it is still contingent on ever-changing weather and fire conditions.
The Town will communicate any change in plans on CRgov.com/fireworks, Facebook (facebook.com/CRgov) and Twitter (@CRgov). Residents can also call the Parks and Recreation weather line, 303-660-1364, on July 4 for updates on the event.
