The Castle Rock Police Department Explorer Post No. 401 began in early 2004 with eight members. Currently, there are 13 Explorers.
Explorers are taught every aspect of law enforcement by law enforcement officers and police command staff. The Explorer command staff is extensively trained in all areas so they can then perform peer-to-peer training with the Explorers. Explorers receive community service credit, which they can use toward their high school graduation or college requirements.
