Outlets LED Community Use
Informing the community about events
When Town Council approved the Outlets at Castle
Rock's new LED sign in November 2010, the Outlets agreed to allow the
Town to promote local special events on the sign.
Interest from various groups wishing to access the sign grew to the
point that it was necessary for the to adopt a Town policy on its usage.
Town Council formally adopted the Outlets at Castle Rock LED sign usage policy on April 24, 2012.
Policy provisions
The Town may promote local special events on the
Outlets at Castle Rock's LED sign by way of an agreement the Town has
with the Outlets' owner, Craig Realty Group. That agreement does not
guarantee the Town the right to display any images and may be terminated
at any time.
Outlets staff has informed the Town that Town and community use of the
sign generally can be expected to constitute up to three slides per
week. Because access is limited, the Town's policy gives posting
priority first to the Town; second to the Castle Rock Chamber of
Commerce and Downtown Alliance, which both host significant community
events in Castle Rock; and third to one-time nonprofit organization
events held within Castle Rock.

Additional information
The Town in 2012 installed its own LED sign to enhance community communication. A policy similar to the Outlets at Castle Rock LED sign usage policy governs the use of that sign, and fees apply for community use. Additional information about that sign is on the Town Hall LED page.
