The rebates / customer incentives offer ways for you to be more water efficient. All rebate participants must attend a Water Wiser Workshop and complete an application. Funds are limited, and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications for 2018 rebates will be accepted beginning March 7, 2018. All rebate applications are processed in the order received, and funds are distributed on a first come-first served basis. Details for each of these rebates are shown below.
Smartscape renovation program
The smartscape renovation program encourages residential water customers to convert water-thirsty plant materials, such as Kentucky Bluegrass, into water wise landscapes. A rebate of $1 per square-foot is available for the removal of any high-water-use plant material and replacement with Xeriscape or hardscape. Appropriate changes or reductions in the associated irrigation system must also be completed. An application must be completed for this rebate. Smart irrigation controller (ET controller)
The Smart Controller rebate encourages residents to upgrade their old controllers with new weather-based or soil moisture-based technology. These state-of-the-art irrigation controllers, called Smart, ET, or evapotranspiration controllers, can conserve water, save money and reduce runoff by automating landscape watering based on the weather and water needs of the plants.
To take advantage of the rebate, residential participants must complete a Water Wiser workshop and meet all other program requirements. Rebates are available for up to 50 percent of the cost of a controller, up to a maximum of $300; nonresidential customers have a maximum of five controllers. The rotary nozzle retrofit program specifically targets the replacement of less efficient traditional fixed spray nozzles with more efficient rotary nozzles. Rebate up to $5 each (nonresidential maximum is $2,000.) Installation costs, sales tax, and shipping and handling costs are not covered.
