The Castle Rock Police Department and software company LexisNexis recently partnered to provide a new way for the public to stay informed about crime in Castle Rock.
The company's software, Community Crime Map, maps and analyzes crime data; alerts Castle Rock residents about crimes in their area; and allows the Castle Rock Police Department to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur.
Residents can view a map and grid with all of the crimes in their area and sign up for neighborhood watch reports that automatically email a breakdown of recent crime activity. Community Crime Map automatically syncs with the Castle Rock Police Department's records system to keep crime information updated.
The Community Crime Map cleans and geocodes the crime data, then displays all of the incidents on a map, along with some basic information about the incidents, including the type of crime, location, block-level address, date and time.
To view the information, visit Community Crime Map and enter your address in the search field and select "Go to Address."
