Pipes and Drums

CRFD Pipes and Drums logoThe Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Department Pipes and Drums was established in 2017, and is comprised of a group of firefighters committed to representing the department, the community and honoring the fallen.
The mission of the band is "to honor our fallen brothers and sisters who have dedicated their lives protecting and serving others. To celebrate the accomplishments of our members. To strengthen the ties and goodwill within our community."

Function

The Pipes and Drums work under the guidance of the Chief and Deputy Chief, and are currently 16 members strong. Members play the traditional Scottish Highland bagpipes, snare drums, tenor drums and a bass drum. The band has selected the MacRae Hunting Modern tartan as its official adornment.

Members have played at funerals, remembrances, community events, the department's annual banquet, fire academy graduations, national firefighter memorials and the Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade.
