Last year the baseball fields at this park were converted from grass to synthetic turf. The project is a joint effort between the Parks and Recreation Department and Castle Rock Water to save water, reduce maintenance hours for park operations staff and extend the ability of sports teams and leagues to use the facilities earlier in the spring and later in the fall when unfavorable weather can often limit play.
Additionally, the backstop was upgraded with higher netting. In early 2024 the park maintenance department will also be adding two dugouts, which are made out of durable shipping containers. to each field along the first and third base lines.
