Mitchell Creek Open Space and Trail

This paved, 8-foot-wide trail is considered easy and offers connections to Mitchell Gulch, Founders and Matney parks, as well as the unpaved Mitchell Creek Canyon Trail.

The trail winds through the riparian habitat of Mitchell Creek. This trail also provides access to Mitchell Creek Canyon Trail - a 1.5 mile, unpaved, single-track trail that connects to Gateway Mesa Open Space.

Additionally, a 0.3 mile unpaved trail connection provides students, and the public, a safe and easy route to Mesa Middle School from the Mitchell Creek Trail. Construction of this trail and bridge crossing was provided by volunteers and students from the Atlas Bear Team at Mesa Middle School, as well as Joseph Brindle as part of his Eagle Merit Badge.
