Parkview Tributary and Fifth Street Trail Drainage Improvements
Castle Rock Water is implementing Stormwater Master Plan improvements for the Parkview Tributary drainageway between Fifth Street and Sunset Court, along Oakwood Court and Oakwood Drive, to improve drainage and minimize flooding in the Oak Park neighborhood. In addition, aging water distribution mains under Oakwood Drive will be replaced to take advantage of the pavement replacement required for the storm drainage construction.
The storm sewer system will consist of 903 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe, 328 linear feet of plastic pipe, eleven inlets and nine manholes. Street and sidewalk improvements will support the storm drainage system and improve pedestrian safety. Water and sanitary sewer system improvements include replacement of 604 linear feet of water mains with polyvinyl chloride pipe, along with associated service connections. Additionally, some residential sanitary sewer services will be replaced and two new fire hydrants will be installed.
Access and disruptions
Temporary short-term (less than one day) disruptions to sanitary sewer and water services will occur within the project limits for some properties, along with restricted access to driveways. Affected residents will be given advance notice when disruptions are planned, to minimize any inconvenience.
Traffic detours, lane closures, sidewalk and trail closures along Oakwood Drive, Oakwood Court and Fifth Street will also be necessary. Traffic control plans from the contractor will be approved by the Public Works Department to ensure no disruptions to emergency or other services occur.
Construction activities will take place on weekdays, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Work may also occur on Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as approved by the Town to accommodate special conditions.

The construction contract was awarded to RME Ltd., LLC (Elite Surface Infrastructure) in the amount of $1,257,735.85, and is being funded through the Stormwater, Water and Wastewater Enterprise Funds.
