Castle Rockin' the Fourth
Tuesday, July 4
Spend the day with family, friends and neighbors and head over to Philip S. Miller Park for a full day of fun for the entire family. To celebrate our nation's birthday, Castle Rockin' the Fourth will kick off with a free, untimed, Independence Day 5K at 9 a.m. Then, you can cool off on the Millhouse lawn and get covered in bubbles at a foam party.
Throughout the day, there will be magic shows, patriotic movies, live music, kid's activities, food trucks and cocktails and beer for purchase. At 8 p.m., enjoy a free show by the much-loved Neil Diamond tribute band, Super Diamond. The grand finale will be a spectacular drone show for all to enjoy.
If you can't make it to Philip S. Miller Park, find the best spot to view Santa Fe Quarry, located in the Red Hawk area, and enjoy a drone show.
As the event gets closer, we will update this page with additional details about the Castle Rockin' the Fourth event including a list of food trucks and vendors, frequently asked questions and more!

- Are sparklers allowed at the celebration?
-
No sparklers, firecrackers, or fireworks of any kind are permitted at the Park.
- Will there be a fireworks show on July Fourth?
-
This year, we are excited to offer residents a full day of activities for the entire family at Philip S. Miller Park in celebration of our nation's birthday. The fun-filled Castle Rockin’ the Fourth event culminates with an Independence Day drone show, which replaces the fireworks display of years past. We know that many look forward to celebrating with fireworks; however, the fallout from a typical July 4 fireworks show poses a significant wildfire risk. The dry summers we’ve experienced the past several years have created a high risk of wildfire and resulted in show cancellations. Fireworks are still planned for Starlighting as the low-flying fireworks show poses less fire risk during a typically less dry time of year.
- Where do I park? Is there a fee to park?
-
Parking is free!
If parking is not available within the park, a parking crew member will direct you to overflow parking.
Overflow parking can be found at the Douglas County Fairgrounds at 500 Fairgrounds Road. The Town Trolley will be running between the Fairgrounds and Philip S. Miller Park. The Town trolley is wheelchair accessible.
- Are grills allowed?
-
You may grill in the parking area. No open flames are allowed and the grill must fit into your parking spot.
