Notice is hereby given that an application has been made for a landmark alteration certificate for Lots 11 & 12, Craig and Gould’s Addition to Castle Rock, County of Douglas, State of Colorado (also known as Kirk House, 620 Second Street, Castle Rock, Colorado). The application proposes to relocate the existing garage/carriage house on the property and build a new garage on the northeast corner of the property.

Due to the Governor’s stay-at home and safer-at-home orders, neighborhood meetings were not held. However, public comments are encouraged. Please see the bulleted options later in this notice on ways to provide public comments. The proposal includes a new, two-car garage measuring approximately 733 square feet on a locally landmarked property (Kirk House). The existing garage/carriage house is not structurally sound and will be rebuilt on a proper foundation onto the south side of the proposed garage.

Pursuant to Resolutions 2020-044 and 2020-045 as approved by Town Council, a virtual public hearing on said application will be held before the Historic Preservation Board on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at 6:00 P.M. Due to the Governor’s safer-at-home order, the hearing will be held remotely with no in-person attendance. If you would like to participate in the virtual public hearing, please see one of the options below:
