The Colorado Bluebird Project in Castle Rock operates under the POST Partners Volunteer Program with guidance from Denver Audubon. The project improves the vitality of native bluebird populations and educates the public about bluebirds. For the last 15 years, the program has maintained and monitored 190 nest boxes at 32 different sites throughout Castle Rock. The Colorado Bluebird Project needs volunteers for weekly monitoring of breeding activity in the nest boxes beginning April 1 through mid-August. This program is suitable for families and individuals of all ages looking for a rewarding, fun and educational way to interact with local wildlife in their own backyard.
