Season of the Star event series helps the holidays shine bright

Festive events around Town include Reindeer Games on December 13 and Storytellers and S'mores on

Memories, magic and merriment are a big part of the holidays. Make the season truly shine and join the Town to celebrate the Season of the Star.

The holidays in Castle Rock start with Starlighting and continue through the New Year. The Season of the Star event series helps celebrate the warmth of our community. Start a new tradition, take in the holiday lights Downtown and enjoy everything the season has to offer in Castle Rock. More information is available at CRgov.com/StarSeason. 

Admission to Season of the Star events is free. Make holiday memories Downtown, and be sure to shop locally this season. Shopping locally helps fund key Town services like public safety, park maintenance and road improvements.

2019 Season of the Star events:

Storytellers and S’mores
Saturday, Dec. 7
5-7 p.m.
Festival Park

Don’t miss out on this holiday tradition. Santa, Buddy the Elf, the Grinch and some friends from Frozen, will be at Festival Park to read holiday favorites from our giant Storytellers Chair. Enjoy roasting marshmallows, s’mores and hot chocolate. Plus, write a letter to Santa and drop it in our special mailbox for quick delivery to the North Pole.

Reindeer Games
Friday, Dec. 13
3-6 p.m.
Philip S. Miller Park

He’s making a list and checking it twice. Do you know if you’ve been naughty or nice this year? Find out when Santa and his live reindeer transform Philip S. Miller Park into a winter-themed wonderland.

Enjoy kid-friendly activities including free cookies and hot chocolate, sleigh rides, outdoor games and an obstacle course in the Amphitheater. Kids will receive a prize for completing the course while supplies last.

Plus, don’t miss a ride on the kids-sized Polar Express train. And parents, be sure to bring a camera to snap photos with Santa at the Millhouse.

It’s important to note, the carriage rides at Festival Park will run differently in 2019. Rides are being offered for $15 per family and by first-come, first-served reservation only. Go to Facebook.com/DowntownCastleRock for more information.
