As Castle Rock grows, the Town recognizes the need for a comprehensive truck route program throughout the community. This would help reduce cut-through freight traffic in residential areas.
The program will identify and mark designated routes for commercial truck drivers to follow when in our community. Trucks with destinations away from the truck routes will be able to deviate from the approved routes to complete deliveries.
You’re invited to join Town staff at an open house from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 18, at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St., to discuss the Town’s proposed designated truck route program. There will be no formal presentation during the open house. Community members interested in the project are encouraged to stop by any time. Town staff will be present to discuss the proposed truck map route, enforcement and the program’s purpose.
After obtaining feedback, the Townwide truck route map will be presented to Town Council this summer. If adopted, signage designating the routes is expected to be installed by year-end.
