Learn all about Castle Rock at Your Town Academy – an eight-week class designed to provide Castle Rock residents and business owners with greater knowledge of their Town government.

Applications are being accepted starting today at CRgov.com/YTA. The application period is expected to close June 30, but it could end earlier if the class becomes full, as spaces are limited; don’t wait if you are interested in learning more about how #WeWorkForYou.

“If you want to get to know the Town of Castle Rock, for whatever reason, the Town Academy is hands down the best way to do just that,” said 2022 graduate Mike Fahrenbruch. “Very informative, eye opening and you may just be surprised at what you’ll learn about this wonderful and unique Colorado Town of Castle Rock!”

During the academy, each of the Town’s major departments – Development Services, Finance, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Police, Public Works/Roads and Water – hosts an evening of information and interactive demonstrations regarding their services. The remaining two classes contain information about the Town’s history, structure and general services. A detailed course outline is available online.

“I’ve lived in Castle Rock for 15 years but was surprised at how much new information I learned that I didn’t know about the town,” said 2022 graduate Donna Clark.

The program will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on eight Mondays between Aug. 14 and Oct. 9. A graduation ceremony will be held during the Oct. 17 Town Council meeting.

The class is free to adults ages 18 and up. Participants must complete at least six of the eight classes to receive a Certificate of Completion.

The class size will be capped at 30 participants. Preference for enrollment will be given first to Town residents and business owners. The class will then be filled first come, first served. Those accepted into the class will be notified in July.
