It’s back! The Castle Rock Police Department invites the community to its biggest summer celebration. National Night Out will take place Tuesday, Aug. 1.
“Our entire department looks forward to this event every summer,” said Police Chief Jack Cauley. “National Night Out really allows us to showcase our One-By-One Policing philosophy and form real connections with the residents we serve.”
The annual tradition will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Philip S. Miller Park (1375 W Plum Creek Parkway) pavilions. CRPD’s various divisions and specialized units will have booths where the community can watch demonstrations, talk to officers and professional staff one-on-one and collect their favorite Police Department swag. In addition to numerous giveaways, there will be hands-on activities for kids.
“If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about our programs, ask our officers questions or gain a better understanding of our department, we encourage you to stop by,” said Cauley. “We hope that by attending this event, you can get to know our officers and professional staff members on a more personal, relatable level.”
Castle Rock officers will also be manning the grills, serving up free hotdogs, hamburgers and beverages to attendees.
National Night Out is a countrywide campaign that was created to help foster positive relationships between police departments and the residents they serve. The event is hosted annually on the first Tuesday in August.
