If fireworks are a traditional part of your July 4 celebration, you’ll want to turn your attention to Santa Fe Quarry Mesa – the butte above Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course – for this year’s fireworks show.
Starting at sundown (about 9:30 p.m.) on Sunday, July 4, fireworks will shoot off from the top of the Santa Fe Quarry Mesa. Because of the elevation of the butte – about 6,700 feet – and because this is a high-flying show, fireworks can be seen from most places in Town. Get more information on the views around Town at CRgov.com/Fireworks.
You’ll know the fireworks are about to begin because there will be a three-shot salute to start the show.
If you’re parking in neighborhoods to see the show, please be courteous of driveways and adhere to any posted neighborhood parking restrictions. Parking along major streets and roadways will be limited.
In the event of rain or severe weather, the fireworks will be postponed to Monday, July 5. If the Town is under Stage 2 fire restrictions, the show will be canceled. Stay tuned to the Town’s Facebook page (/CRgov) for updates on July 4.
Golf course information and park information
Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course will be open normal hours (6 a.m. to dark). The course is hosting a small parking lot party and the 6202 Band will play from 6 to 9 p.m. The Clubhouse Grill will be grilling in the parking lot with food for purchase, and beverage stations will be available.
The public is invited to hang out in the parking lot, the Clubhouse lawn and the driving range to watch the fireworks show. For safety and maintenance reasons, the golf course asks visitors to please stay in the parking lot or driving range area and off the greens.
