Calling all ColoradoScapes

Castle Rock is transforming the landscape, literally. Gone are the days of the sprawling lawn and white picket fence. Blooming fuschia hyssops, blue-green bristlecone pines and red-rocked patios are all part of a desired Castle Rock landscape.

Are you proud of your low-water landscape? We've got the perfect opportunity. Castle Rock Water is hosting a Parade of Gardens this summer.

We will highlight six to eight residential landscapes on a public to tour. A professional will be on hand at each location to answer questions. Homeowner’s do not need to be present and only the exterior front or back yard will be visited. Help us give residents a hands-on experience of what a Colorado landscape looks like. Interested? Send us an email.

Castle Rock is a community that already understands conservation, but Mayor Jason Gray is encouraging residents to take it to the next level. During the month of April, join us in this fun, education pledge to save water and other resources.

Take the pledge and help get us into the top 10 cities in the nation for pledges, for the fourth year in a row! And with each pledge, there is an chance to win great prizes, including cash toward utility bills. The event is sponsored by The Wyland Foundation.

Wondering when to turn on the sprinklers?

Mother's Day is the usually the start of planting and irrigation season. To help you remember that efficient irrigation is a priority, watering schedules now include the cooler, wetter months as well as the summer months.

From May through September, residential customers will need to abide by the every-third-day watering schedule and only water before 8 a.m. or after 8 p.m. (Non-residential customers have a similar schedule.) However, given our wet spring so far and with numerous more storms in the forecast, our soils are saturated and limited watering should be needed in May.

Learn more about this year's watering schedule at CRconserve.com/waterschedule.
