If parking is not available within the park, a parking crew member will direct you to overflow parking. If a spot is coned off, it is for a vendor, performer, mobile food vendor or staff. If you park in a reserved spot without displaying a reserved parking pass, you will be towed.
Overflow parking can be found at the Douglas County Fairgrounds at 500 Fairgrounds Road. Beginning at noon on July 4, the Town Trolley will be running between the Fairgrounds and Philip S. Miller Park. The Town trolley is wheelchair accessible.
No sparklers, firecrackers, or fireworks of any kind are permitted at the Park.
This year, we are excited to offer residents a full day of activities for the entire family at Philip S. Miller Park in celebration of our nation's birthday. The fun-filled Castle Rockin’ the Fourth event culminates with an Independence Day drone show, which replaces the fireworks display of years past. We know that many look forward to celebrating with fireworks; however, the fallout from a typical July 4 fireworks show poses a significant wildfire risk. The dry summers we’ve experienced the past several years have created a high risk of wildfire and resulted in show cancellations. Fireworks are still planned for Starlighting as the low-flying fireworks show poses less fire risk during a typically less dry time of year.
