Background
Mayor Pro Tem Bracken attended Illinois State University, where he was voted Student-Athlete of the Year in his junior year and earned a degree in Bachelor of Science. Since 1990, Mayor Pro Tem Bracken had lived temporarily or permanently in Colorado Springs, where he was a resident athlete in the sport of wrestling at the United States Olympic Training Center (USOTC). He was the team captain of the USOTC program for seven years. He finished 6th place in the Sydney Olympic Games and 6th and 7th place in the world championships. He earned five National Championships and was an alternate for the 2004 Olympic Games in Greece.
Mayor Pro Tem Bracken has worked in healthcare for more than 18 years for Forest Pharmaceuticals, Zimmer Orthopedics and Vizient. He is a national healthcare consultant who leads strategic project management and cost improvement for hospitals.
Mayor Pro Tem Bracken has served on several boards of directors for Castle Rock. He also has served on USA Wrestling’s Board of Directors, USA Olympic/World Coaches Selection Committee, V.P. of The Never Alone Foundation (International Adoption), and V.P. of the Illinois Olympic Alumni Association.
Mayor Pro Tem Bracken coaches a youth wrestling club and football at Castle View High School. He has a wife, a daughter at Castle View High School and a son who attends college in Fort Collins.
